Random ramblings...
I don't really have any fabulous news, it just feels like I haven't blogged in forever.
First let me say that I am already having Daryl Dixon withdrawals. February? Really?
On an upbeat note, I sent Chasing Angel to the editor. The moment I hit send, I had a panic attack. I never feel like a book is ready, and I already want to go back in make a million more changes, but I am restraining myself until after I get the edits back. *Deep breath*
If you haven't checked them out yet, there are a few giveaways in the below post with awesome prizes!!! Thank you guys for sharing your favorite cookie recipes. I am officially craving Christmas.
I am thinking while Chasing Angel is in edits I will write a bonus Christmas scene…hmmm
There will also be some upcoming posts about Weaving Magick. I will be working on designing a cover (I need the visual inspiration), and I am thinking about giving a sneak peak of Chapter 1.
And lastly, I have a short story called Blood, Love, and Magic that is being released under Nevermore Press in 2014. I guess I did have some exciting news after all. I will post more deets once I know.
You guys rock my socks!!!

Oh. Meh. Gerd.
Why yes it is.
I can't believe my last post was almost a month ago. Jeesh. What is wrong with me?
A lot, but we won't get into that @_@
So I have had just a crazy summer and there has been lots of changes and changes still to come. As you know Luminescence was picked up by Nevermore Press, and I am so excited to see how the final product turns out for the first two books.
Luminescence will be released on Nov. 15th and Amethyst Tears on Dec. 20th. I will post more info as I get it ;)
Some of you may be wondering what is going on with the last two books in both series...
Honestly I don't know what I was thinking writing two series at once. That was never in my plan, but Chase and Angel kept nagging me and I couldn't stop until I had it written done. And I am so glad that I did! Though sometimes I cross streams and if you have ever seen Ghostbusters than you know that is a big no-no, which is why I feel it is really important that I have a great team like Nevermore helping me out.
It is not yet official because I have been struggling with the decision for the last month or so whether I also re-release the books under Nevermore who have expressed great interest in the Divisa series, which I totally don't blame them. I mean, Chase and Angel are just dynamite in my opinion;) I love those two <3
I know it will totally stink having to wait a little longer for the books and I know some of you could care less about the many mistakes I make, but I know quite a few people who will be rejoicing. A polished book I can be proud and readers will thoroughly enjoy is my ultimate goal. I hope you all don't hate me for making you wait just a little longer to read the books ;(
As soon as I have definate release dates and fun info to share I will be posting here and most difinitely tweeting it. Twitter got a mouthful from me last night ;)
I love you guys - thanks so much for giving my books a shot. It literally means the world to me.
XOXO

My Boy Chase...
I am totally blown away by the release of Hunting Angel and so is my boy Chase.
My husband hearing all the common asked, "Are you okay?" And I was like...
At first I was like...
My husband hearing all the common asked, "Are you okay?" And I was like...
Of course I can't help myself...
Then my husband asked...
Ummm... Does being high on Chase count?
Husband: "Say what?"
So I just wanted to say...
and...
What I'm trying to say is...
and...

Gavin vs. Chase... you decide
So for the summer I will be working on a new book. *jumps up & down* I love new storylines - love them. I won't be giving out any details yet, except I already love the main characters and I haven't even written their story yet.
But, in the meantime I need help @_@
Once summer is over I will pick back up and write the final books of one of my two current series. Should it be the sexy half-demon or the dark witch?
I just can't decide... *face palm* Chase or Gavin. You tell me.
At the end of the summer, whoever got the most votes will be the next published book.
Oh man. I can't wait to find out who wins. Is it cheating if I vote?
***UPDATE*** 6/18/13
Okay so I think my widget isn't working the way I want so... I am going to be added a new one to the side of my blog and here in this post in the next day or two. So sorry guys.

Brace yourselves...a Tuesday Teaser
Brace yourselves, a quote from Hunting Angel, book 2 in the Divisa series...
Lots more to follow leading up to the release of Hunting Angel. There is so much going on that I don't even know what I am doing anymore ;)

Zoning out
Hiya!
So I have been in this writing phase lately. After a long day at my 9-5, I love to come home, lock myself away, boot up my computer, plug in my earbuds, and...
Blare an obscene amount Evanescence tracks on repeat.
I almost always listen to music while I zone out and write, lately its all about Evanescence.
I absolutely love the balance of her voice and the rock. It is darkly beautiful, poetic and inspires me. The words just seem to flow so much smoother with Amy Lee singing to me.
I love all of their songs, but my absolute fav is Bring Me to Life.
What do you guys zone-out to?

Teaser Tuesday and a hot guy...
Teaser Tuesday ~
Here is a just little teaser for Hunting Angel.
I can finally almost taste the end and can't wait to get it out there. Though Hunting Angel is a long way ready for publication. So many edits, so many re-reads, Beta's, and not to mention I need to finish the story first.
I'm getting ahead of myself, but I am just so dang excited!
I will probably be putting together a book tour for the release date of Hunting Angel as well 0_o, so look for that coming in the next month or two.
More teasers to come in the weeks following up to the release.

Multiple POV's...yeah or nah?
Hmmm. Look at those lips.
Every blog post should start with a yummy guy, it's like having a bowl of Wheaties in the morning. My Wheaties would have to be Damon Salvatore.
Lately I have been mulling around with a new story - a Dystopian Romance. I've been playing with ideas here and there, trying to figure stuff out (stuff, I have such a way with words). I started out writing in 1st person, then I re-wrote in 3rd person, but what I think I really want to do is 1st person multiple POV's.
The two main characters are Zoeya and Dash, so I was thinking of alternating between the two of them.
Is this a good idea?
Do readers enjoy the swapping of POV's?
I personally enjoy them, but the few I have read didn't start the series out that way. It wasn't until the 4th or 5th book that the swapping of voices occurred.
Hmm... I just can't decided. I think when the time comes, I will post the intro in all three and take a poll. In the future. By future, I mean I have no idea when. I really need to keep my focus on Hunting Angel, but after that I might play around with the storyline. I am sure you will hear more about it.
If you have a preference or an opinion, let me know!
XOXO

A typical evening 0_o
Usually this is how an evening of writing works for me. It's like a science.
Boot-up laptop
Get bored and start playing Candy Crush on phoneOpen Word document
Scroll through document
Reread paragraph trying to remember where I left off
Stare at Word, trying to remember all the great ideas I had while driving home from my 9-5
Type a sentence or two. Maybe more if I’m feeling saucy
Check out Facebook waiting to get inspired
Get inspired but not with writing – home décor
Stalk some decorating blogs
Follow some interesting ones
Then check out my blog
Scold myself for getting sidetrack. Write a paragraph, maybe a page, thinking, oh yeah on a roll
Candy Crush again. Finally pass that level I’ve been stuck on for a week. Give myself a silent high-five
Open YouTube and watch newest Yogscast video
Laugh butt off like an insane person. It can’t be helped.
Husband sticks head in to see what is so funny. “I thought you were writing.”
Busted. Quick close YouTube. “I am, right now.”
Get myself in the zone and write another paragraph
Find myself on Amazon reading people’s comments
Then over to Goodreads for some more lurking
Prowl on Twitter for awhile
Post a tweet, #hashtag like a madwoman
Yell at myself for being on Twitter
Pledge to writing at least 1,000 words without any interruptions
Halfway through realize I haven’t checked my emails in a few hours
Which then leads to more stalking numerous websites
Look at clock and groan. Realize I actually need to write if I am going to finish this book. Do that.
Get a new scene in my head. Stop writing what I’m writing and skip ahead to new scene
End night, ready for bed
Then all the good stuff hits. Look at laptop cooling and grab notebook
Jot down ideas for tomorrow
Hopefully I am not the only author with sporadic habits. *sighs*
Though somehow a few months later I end up with a manuscript draft. Pretty-freaking-unbelievable.

Every time I hear this song...
Every time I hear this song...No joke, I think of Chase and Angel. Maybe its because I have been diligently working on Hunting Angel or maybe it is just because Chase is trouble (usually the good kind). Regardless, this song inspires me.
I am a huge Taylor Swift fan (this actually currently my ringtone. I love it that much).
Sometime next week a second edition of Saving Angel will be uploaded with so much needed editing. Losing Emma will follow in the next few weeks. Thank you Elena, you are life saver!
I am still amazed at the emails and comments I get about this series. It means the the world, it makes me want to keep on writing.

Teaser Tuesday - AMETHYST TEARS (book 2)
As promised here is a sneak peak inside Amethyst Tears which will be available on Amazon 02/15/13. Eeeep! I am uber excited.
Here you go:
Here you go:
Opening the door to my bedroom, my heart sighed like a sappy love song. Gavin was spread out on my bed with a purring Lunar curled against his side.
He looked like he should be on the cover of Rolling Stones. Dark. Edgy. Killer eyes. The two of them together looked like trouble and more trouble. His grin aimed my way was downright sinister, like he could see the naughty images conjuring in my head. They would have made the devil himself blush.
I was drawn to him. Not just drawn, compelled might be a better word.
Just staring at him I was suddenly filled with a boost of confidence. When it came to boys I was more than a little inexperience. I was downright clueless. It’s not like there was a step-by-step manual on dating, or a guide to teenage love. If there was, I probably would have memorized it.
As it was, I felt empowered.
Maybe it some part of me was tapping into my magic, or maybe it was because Gavin made me feel beautiful. Wherever my new found confidence stemmed from, I wasn’t about to let it slip from my fingers. I was going to take full advantage of it while it lasted. Meaning I was going to take full advantage of Gavin.
Setting aside my keys, I crawled into bed alongside him, propping my head on my hand. Looking down, his eyes never left mine since I entered the room. Neither of us said a word. Words weren’t needed for what I had in mind.
We had at least an hour before my aunt came home, and I wasn’t about to waste any more time. Without a second thought, I finished what I had wanted more than anything in chem class.
Our lips met in one quick fluid motion. The spark of our magic electrocuted as soon as our mouths touched. It was a fine line between pleasure and pain. For some insane reason it felt like we hadn’t kissed in years. I felt starved for him. For his touch.
He fisted a hand into my hair, tugging me closer to him. I could feel the waves of heat coming off him as our bodies collide. This was… Crazy. Wonderful.
As if he wasn’t satisfied with our closeness, I abruptly found myself lying on my back and Gavin’s glorious weight sinking into me. Our lips never lost contact. That took some skill. Deeping the kiss, he tasted of summer nights.
Smoldering.
Heady.
Magical.
I slipped my hand under his shirt, running my fingers over the planes of his back. Right now I was beyond thinking rationally. Beyond thinking at all. It was all need. Lust. Hormones gone wild.
Holy hot moonbeams.
Bunching my fingers at the hem of his shirt, I pushed it up and in a swift moment it landed disgarded on the bedroom floor. My fingers couldn’t have been happier. As I traced patterns on his chest, his eyes locked onto mine, dark and steaming. They captivated me, holding me prisoner.
A strangled groan escaped before he took possession of my lips again, more potent than before. The hotness radar just blew off the scale. My fingers dug into his already messy hair, and my lips greedily ravished his. I loved the texture and feel of him.
His knee shifted between my legs as I soared to another dimension. Nuzzling my neck, his lip ring left a cool trail behind the scorching heat. His body contoured to mine in all the glorious right places. Inside me, there was a feeling I couldn’t yet identify. Magicy, I guess. A strand of energy that pulled us together. Being with him like this was beyond words.
It was unworldly.
I never wanted it to end.
When I become such a hussy?
I loved the tingling sensation his hands left on my skin. It made me wonder if these were normal teenage reactions or if our touch and feelings were heightened because of what we were – witches. I had to believe the latter. Being a witch changed the rules.
More than ever, I wanted to tap into my magic. Usually I used it subconsciously, but right now I felt the urge at my fingertips. Launching from the center of my chest, it spider out everywhere – building.
If I could ever think intelligently again, I wanted to ask him about it.
Right now all I could think about was how hot Gavin’s lips were. He made me feel like I was floating, soaring on some mystical cloud.
Neither of us was prepared for the abrupt interruption.

Pretty & Sweet Headband (its all Etsy fault)
I love to support independent sellers. As I am forever scoping out Etsy to find the cutest stuff.
They are soft and very comfortable. I just fell in love with them on sight. These awesome knitted headbands are made my CoCosKnits. They have a bunch of other really cute stuff. Check out the etsy store.
Check out this sweet and romantic headband that just came in the mail yesterday. I just couldn't wait to try it on. It is on 26 degrees today in the Windy city, so it was a perfect day for it.

My inner cowgirl
These hats by Cowgirl Swank are my new fashion obsession. I. Absolutely. Adore them to pieces. I love the funky fur and bling combo. If its got bling, I'll probably wear it ;)
I've been country line dancing for years, and this would make the perfect accessory to get my boot scootin boogie on (truly this is a name of a line dance). Yep I do live in Chicago, but I've always felt like I should have been born a country girl. I'm a total jean and boot rockin' kind of gal.
*I love country music.
*I love horses & horseback riding. (the goal is to someday have a ranch and a horse. My husband is not exactly on board with this plan)
*I love Tennessee, Nashville specifically. (this would be the idea location for my make believe ranch)
*Cowboys are dreamy.
*Southern hospitality really does exist.
Cowgirl Swank does custom hats, my only dilemma is which style do I choose?

Just me being a fan-girl...
I am absolutely addicted to this show... Okay I am really addicted to most teen shows, especially if the are based off books.
As I said good-bye to one of my favs at the end of 2012 - Gossip Girl (I actually shed a tear), I am really looking forward to the new year and all the endless writing possibilities. There are so many ideas floating around my fluttering head - I can't wait to put them in print.
So I have been trying to expand my blogging abilities on a more personal level other than just book updates (don't worry those will definitely be the highlight of my blog), but I thought I would add things I love.
Holy. Moly. Am I excited!
I love the drama. I love the mystery. I LOVE the fashion. Oh and the hot guys (Caleb). It has all the elements I need in a show to hook me in.
What shows are you guys ga-ga over?
XOXO

My New Favorite Candle
Candles.
I simple adore them. Need them. Seriously I don't think I could ever have too many. I love the way they flicker, and the way the light bounces shadows on the walls. They even have these great candles that give off a crackling sound, those are awesome. Also the more wicks the better.
And the scent. Every room in my house has a different smell from a candle.
Most of the ones I own are from Yankee Candle, and I do love them. (Beachwalk is my all-time fav.)
This year for Christmas I received a candle, and it has become my new favorite candle. It sits in my kitchen ontop of my stove so every time it heats up the candle permeates the air. It's delightful! The scent even not light is very aroma filled for sure. Hmmm.
This beautiful candle is by Swan Creek Candle Co. in Spiced Orange & Cinnamon, which is great for the kitchen. They are a soybean candle.
I. Lovvvve. Them.

Resolutions

Well I am notorious for never following through (basically I suck). So I thought I would make an alternate list or more like guidelines for the New Year.
Run more. (I mean start running)
Elliptical more. (Once a month is fine right?)
Snuggle my hubby and kids. (I just love them to pieces)
Organize my time. (There is never enough hours in the day to get everything I want done. Or play enough xbox)
Learn more about writing and EDITING. (Ugh editing - why are you so hard for me)
Understand that I am not wonder woman. (Wait! What?)
Text less. (I make no promises. I'm a techie goo-roo)
Invest wisely. (Umm. Again I make no promises. I sort of have a shopping problem. It's a girl thing)
Obssess less about what people think about me (I have flaws if you can believe it. Tons of them)
Note to self. Read more this year. (I spent all of last year writing & very little reading. I miss it)
Happy New Year - May 2013 be bright and magical!
XOXO

Description:
Lukas is alive.
I’m talking in the flesh, and he is just as dreamy as ever.
Problem is I haven’t told Gavin. There are just no words to tell someone that your dreams… really aren’t just dreams. And I’m a sucky liar. When the two actually met, it’s a freaking disaster. Like fists flying, magic swirling and tempers flaring.
Ugh. Boys.
But Lukas and I have something in common, other than sharing dreams. Our magic has similar signatures. Nobody knows what that means. And as much as I know that it kills Gavin, Lukas is helping me control it.
The more I use my magic, the more trouble seems to find me. Loads of it. Turns out my magic might just be more dangerous than anyone bargained for.
But mostly I’m scared that my worst nightmare might come true. Gavin will give up on us.

Odds & Ends...
So I have a ton of stuff to cram into this post. Here it goes...
A lot of people have been wondering when AMETHYST TEARS will be released. In my perfect world it would ready for publication in January. I have had to push the release date back further than i had originally plan. There were many factors that contributed. My newest book SAVING ANGEL was reviewed by a few publishers, although I did end up self-pub, it took some time prepping it and whatnot.
Also I am not a full-time writer. I actually have a day job (I work in insurance). Writing for me is something I do for fun. I absolutely love the entire creative process. It's an escape. If I am not writing in my free time, I'm reading. My goal was never about the money, which is why you will never pay the retail prices most published books cost. They will always be under $5 and a few times a year you can actually get them for free!
Plus if you have read one of my books then you probably know that I am the world's worst editor 0_0 No matter how many times I re-read, I will still not catch all the mistakes. I think I have gotten better, but I am actually working with a few Beta Readers so hopefully in the future the will be better edited.
I am also currently working on a 2nd edition for LUMINESCENCE (where hopefully I will clean up many of those horrid editing mistakes. I can't promise that I will get them all, but I will do my best). For those who already have a copy and would like to update to the 2nd edition when it comes out, I would be more than happy to gift you a copy. I will be making a post as soon as it is ready. Either email at jenniferlweil@gmail.com or leave a comment.
Since I first released LUMINESCENCE earlier this year I wasn't sure what I expected. This has been a fabulous learning experience, and I only hope to grow with my writing.
I thank each and every person that has helped me and given me some incredible feedback. It is greatly appreciated. And to everyone who has enjoyed one of my books, its amazing! I love the feedback, and knowing someone is as excited about a character/story as I am is priceless!
