Angel’s breathing was ragged as I busted
through the front door. I could hear the rapid beating of her pulse, and I
wanted to offer solace, assure her it was going to be okay. The problem was I
couldn’t calm myself down. My own heart was jumping out of my chest, and the
blood in my veins was pumping a mile a minute. I knew if I didn’t get this
under control now, the rage was going to consume me.
